Air Transfer System

Air from the small air supply inflates the mattress with the patient on it. At the same time the air is supporting the patient, it escapes from perforations in the underside, acting as a lubricant to make transfers easier.

The HoverMatt requires 93% less force than a draw sheet and 90% less force than a Smooth Mover to move a patient. It is very similar to a hovercraft or an upside-down air hockey table.
